Into The Storm Original
Acrylic on canvas, 36x24 2021 / handmade aspen floater frame
This piece was inspired by childhood memories of driving across the plains of South Dakota during massive afternoon thunderstorms, my more current experiences in whitewater and my journey with grief.
Unlike cattle who will try to move away and resist an oncoming storm, buffalo have the biological instinct to head directly into it, ultimately minimizing their suffering. Resilience is accepting the wave.
